May 2, 2020 – National Scrapbook Day | National Homebrew Day
Transcript for May 2nd
Welcome to May 2nd, 2020 as we bridge the social distance on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate home based hobbies. More after the break from Anna Devere.
What started in the 15th century as a pastime to preserve history, memorabilia and photographs has transformed into an art that many enjoy today. I’m talking of course about scrapbooking, which has reached a whole new level with its colorful papers, three-dimensional embellishments, and even audio recordings and other digital innovations. On National Scrapbook Day, celebrate the art of preserving your own stories and remember how priceless these future treasures will be.
Since ancient times, people have been brewing beer. The past decade has seen a renaissance of home brewing, giving beer lovers a chance to put their personal stamp on their favorite beverage. Some people love to paint, some like to bake, and some ambitious folks love brewing their own beer. Whether it’s a large production that takes up an entire garage or just a corner of the basement, National Homebrew Day is a great time to get started on a hobby that keeps on giving.
