June 4, 2020 – National Cognac Day | National Cheese Day
Transcript for June 4th
Welcome to June 4th, 2020 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate in cheesy style. More after the break from Marlo Anderson.
Marlo: Hello, friends. Today I am pleased to celebrate one of the most delightful alcohols ever bottled.
Anna: Are you wearing a smoking jacket? Where did the fireplace and leather chair come from? And are you drinking from a brandy snifter??
Marlo: Yes, it’s a brandy snifter. It’s National Cognac Day. Cognac is a special brandy that’s only made in the Cognac region of France.
Anna: I don’t know about this new look for you, Marlo.
Marlo: I think I look good in this jacket. May I pour you a glass, my good woman?
Anna: Wow, Marlo. I thought maybe all this cheesiness was in celebration of National Cheese Day.
Marlo: Cognac pairs well with the big, bold flavor of a Stilton cheese.
Anna: That’s good to know. I’ll need to try it.
Marlo: Or you can enjoy a glass with a lovely Swiss Gruyere.
Anna: Okay. Well, as I was saying…
Marlo: Cognac’s delicate perfume, with just a hint of vanilla, mirrors the cheese’s subtle floral aroma
Anna: Oh lord. I’ll have that glass of brandy now.
Marlo: Cognac, Anna. Cognac.
