June 11, 2020 – National Making Life Beautiful Day | National Corn on the Cob Day
Transcript for June 11th
Welcome to June 11th, 2020 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate the beautiful life and a Summer veggie you don’t want to miss. More after the break from Anna Devere.
You’ve heard that beauty is only skin deep. So why not celebrate the things that make life truly beautiful? This is as simple as putting other people first, and happiness experts say that along with expressing gratitude, doing for others brings a deeper sense of satisfaction. The ripple effect is powerful when it comes to paying good will forward. On National Making Life Beautiful Day share what you have with someone else in need. You never know how far a small act of kindness or an uplifting word can go in making life more beautiful for the world around you.
Summer has so many great things about it: vacations, beaches, sunglasses, ice cream, corn on the cob. Yes, I said corn. Okay maybe it’s not the first thing you think of when I say Summertime, but corn is a huge part of this season’s meals. Clambakes and barbecues wouldn’t be complete without it. Most of the year, our only options are frozen or canned corn, which pale in comparison to the sun ripened, sweetness of fresh corn on the cob. On National Corn on the Cob Day, get some of this limited-time only vegetable and enjoy the season’s best flavor you can eat with your hands.
