July 26, 2020 – National Bagelfest Day | National All or Nothing Day

Can You Guess What’s on Marlo’s Bucket List? Hint: It’s Not Bagels.

Welcome to July 26th, 2020 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate a regal carb and taking the plunge .  More after the break from Anna Devere.

In the 17th Century an Austrian baker presented the King of Poland with a new creation. Based on the king’s love of horses, the baker made a circular, doughy bread shaped like a stirrup, or “beugel.”  Rumor has it that bagels have been a favorite in Poland ever since and when Polish immigrants set up bakeries in New York’s Lower East Side people started celebrating the bagel Stateside with a generous schmear of cream cheese. On National Bagelfest Day, stop by your local bakery or coffee shop and enjoy a breakfast fit for a king.

Today we celebrate going for broke on National All Or Nothing Day. If you have been putting off a challenge, get ready to take the plunge on an exciting new adventure, a bucket list dare or a much needed change that’s been holding you back.  This can be much more fun with family or friends and however you celebrate be sure to let others in on the fun.

Anna:  Does this mean that I have to go skydiving with you?

Marlo: Actually I would prefer…
