April 28, 2020 – National Superhero Day | National BraveHearts Day
Transcript April 28th
Welcome to April 28th, 2020 as we bridge the social distance on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate Superheroes in all their various disguises. More after the break from Marlo Anderson.
Clark Kent. Bruce Wayne. Peter Parker. Tony Stark. Chances are good that you’ve heard of these guys and know their super hero story by heart. That’s because these characters appeal to the kid in each of us by doing what we only wish we could. They fight for the little guy and right the wrongs of the world. On National Superhero Day take a moment to celebrate the real-life heroes all around us. While they may not swing on webs or leap tall buildings in a single bound, teachers, doctors, and first responders give it their all to make the world a better place for us every single day.
Sometimes superheroes come in small packages and can even be found in an app. National BraveHearts Day was founded to help kids with cancer find the resources they need through an app called Spotlight Hope. This free app helps families to plug into local resources during their toughest time, from financial help to rides to the doctor and connects them with thousands of organizations in the United States while they navigate pediatric cancer. If this disease has impacted your life in some way, we invite you to download Spotlight Hope and discover the wonderful community dedicated to making the journey more bearable because no family should face cancer alone.
