April 21, 2020 – National Kindergarten Day | National Chocolate Covered Cashew Day

Transcript for April 21st

Welcome to April 21st, 2020 as we bridge the social distance on the National Day Calendar.  Today we celebrate the garden for children and a paradise for snackers. More after the break from Anna Devere.

If you are appreciating your child’s Kindergarten teacher now more than ever before, you are not alone.  This very important phase of child development was first fostered in Blankenburg, Germany, in 1837. Friedrich Wilhelm August Frobel recognized that children learn best through play and experience and his program gently encouraged this tender transition from home life to school with an age appropriate bridge to learning. On National Kindergarten Day celebrate those compassionate gardeners of your child’s education who are longing to get back their important work.

Anything covered in chocolate is worth celebrating in my opinion but nothing puts a healthy spin on snacking quite like a chocolate covered cashew.  And while we have dedicated an entire day to each of these foods on their own, this perfect pairing makes me want to take a break from nerdy facts and just enjoy the view from my own corner of snack paradise.  Go ahead, Anna, I dare you to tell me I can’t enjoy this one.

Anna Actually Marlo, Chocolate Covered Cashews are a healthy snack as long as you don’t…

Marlo: Nope, nope, nope stop right there.  Hear that…

That’s the sound of me celebrating.
